Then, in 2011, to mark the anniversary, an olive tree over 1,000 years old arrived at Olive Forest EAST after a 10,000km sea route from Andalusia, Spain. Takesan Memorial Hall Ittokuan, the home of Shodoshima Tsukudani<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of Takebe Yoshitsugu Shoten, we opened the "Takesan Memorial Hall, Ittokuan, Home of Shodoshima Tsukudani," named after the pen name of Takebe Yoshitsugu, the father of Shodoshima Tsukudani, on September 26, 2006.
It was made when the company was founded in 1945.
You can see videos and panel displays that show the history of the development of Shodoshima soy sauce and tsukudani up to the present day, including the tsukudani made from potato vines, which is the origin of Shodoshima tsukudani.
The Ittokuan building was originally a tsukudani factory when the company was founded.
The building was renovated from a previous use.
Before the war, it was a soy sauce brewery,
The building is a condensed version of the history of Shodoshima soy sauce and tsukudani.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Marukin Soy Sauce Memorial Museum<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This fun museum was established to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Marukin's founding, and is divided into eight sections that display and introduce the history of soy sauce and food culture.
*From November 1, 2021, an admission fee of 400 yen (adults) and 200 yen (children) will be required.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Shinpaku at Hosho-in Temple<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The largest shimpaku tree in Japan is located in the grounds of Hosho-in Temple, the 54th temple of the 88 sacred places of Shodoshima.
The circumference at the base is 16.6m and the tree is about 20m tall.
About 1m above ground, the tree branches off in three directions, creating a spectacular sight with its vigorous growth.
A part of the base of the main trunk has decayed and become hollow, which gives it a mysterious atmosphere.
It is said to have been planted by Emperor Ojin himself.
It is an old giant tree estimated to be over 1,600 years old.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tsuchibuchi Strait is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the narrowest strait in the world.

This cafe and bar not only offers sake tasting and sales, but also serves curry and sweets made with sake and ingredients from the island, sake tasting sets, and sake cocktails.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
